Camp Bahamas and Hurricane Irene Update #2

As many of you know I have been in constant communication with our missionaries at Camp Bahamas all day today.  We just received our first update on the status of the property and I wanted to share it with you.

CAMP PROPERTY NEWS:

A friend surveyed the latest damage to the camp site a few minutes ago and found the following:

CABINS: They look GOOD except for some shingles on the unfinished double cabin.

GYM: NO Major damage. There are a few edges of siding flapped up that will need to be replaced.  The roof is GOOD.  It look like the scaffolding inside fell over on the gym doors and may have possibly damaged them.  The cement wall for stage collapsed.

BEACH: The beautiful white sand beach is officially GONE. NO sand, only rock.  Our friend could not even drive a car over the rock, it was that rocky!

This is the information that we have at this current time and as we can post specific pictures we will.  Please continue to pray for ALL the settlements throughout Eleuthera and the other islands of the Bahamas.  Please remember that while buildings and homes can be rebuilt lives can not be replaced.  So please pray for the safety of the those on these islands.

Continue to check back over the next few days for more updates.
